2011 Volvo S60 First Photos Revealed
Volvo has finally released the first images of its new 2011 S60 sedan, which is scheduled to make its first public debut at the Geneva Salon in March 2010. The production and sales of the vehicle are expected to start in early summer of 2010.
According to Stephen Odell, President and CEO of Volvo Cars āthe all-new Volvo S60 is sculpted to move you. It looks and drives like no other Volvo before and the carās technology will help you to be safer and more confident behind the wheel.ā
The exterior design of the production model is very similar to the concept model first introduced at Detroit Auto Show in January. It comes with the same sloping, coupe-like roofline and curvy waistline as well as the distinct front-end styling. Thought the Swedish automaker has not released any photos of the interior yet, it is expected that the interior of the car will be a little changed but will come with the concept modelās cabin featuring a same shape dashboard.
One of the most significant features of the Volvo S60 is that the car is equipped the Pedestrian Detection system which as the name implies, can detect pedestrians and apply brakes automatically should the driver fail to do so in time.
āOur aim for 2020 is that no-one should be killed or seriously injured in a Volvo,ā said Volvo Senior Safety Advisor Thomas Broberg previously regarding the brandās overall safety strategy.
The new S60 sedan will, most likely, be available a number of gasoline and diesel engines including Fordās new EcoBoost 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine featuring turbocharging, direct injection and outputs ranging from 150 to 180 horsepower.
