LINDEN LAB UPPER MANAGEMENT MUSICAL CHAIRS SLCNTV TO AIR SPECIAL METANOMICS ON THE IMPACT TO VIRTUAL WORLD SECOND LIFE IN RESPONSE TO ROSEDALES STEPPING DOWN AS CEO

Second Life, March 26, 2008 -- The founder and CEO of Linden Lab, Philip Rosedale, is turning in his executive key for a seat on the Board of Directors and the search for his replacement is underway. Many residents in the virtual world of Second Life are left to wonder what will happen in the days to come with their Governor Linden not at the helm, and who will be the chosen predecessor. Professor Robert Bloomfield (Beyers Sellers in Second Life) will host a special edition of Metanomics to derive answers to some difficult questions about the future of Second Life and the impact to the metaverse in response to Rosedale's stepping down as CEO.

Questions are abound both in and out of the virtual world. Residents of Second Life are wondering what impact this second major upper management staff change in the last year will bring and how the progressive development of Second Life will maintain its momentum. The direction of the virtual world with this changing of the guard and the impact on real world enterprises with a vested interested in Second Life's virtual economy, or with plans to step into the virtual world market, are in question. Bloomfield (known as Beyers Sellers in Second Life) will be on task to pose these questions and more to one of Second Life's founding investors and current Chairman of the Board, Mitch Kapor.

Rosedale will be taking the seat as Chairman of the Board as Mitch Kapor, current Chair, will be moving on to more integral duties under a new title not yet announced by Linden Lab. In a recent aside on topics on tap for the one-on-one with Kapor, Bloomfield offers, "We will talk about his vision for virtual worlds technology and business strategy and, of course, the future of Linden Lab and Second Life."

Kapor is a pioneer of the personal computing revolution and has been at the forefront of information technology for 30 years as an entrepreneur, software designer, activist, and investor. He is widely known as founder of Lotus Development Corporation and the designer of Lotus 1-2-3, the "killer application" which made the personal computer ubiquitous in the business world in the 1980s. Other organizations in which Kapor has played an integral role include UUNET, The Electronic Frontier Foundation, Real Networks, the Mozilla Foundation and Linden Research.

Metanomics is one of the most highly watched shows in the SLCN.TV lineup providing invaluable insight into the business and economics of virtual worlds. "Metanomics" refers to the study of the business and policy aspects of the 'metaverse' of virtual worlds and is also the name of a popular weekly program hosted by Cornell University's Robert Bloomfield, professor of economics.

Live coverage of this special edition of Metanomics will be shown on Friday, March 28, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. PST exclusively on SLCN.TV : http://www.slcn.tv.
