Negligence over young boys death in hospital
A four year old boy was rushed to hospital with severe abdominal pain from a bowel obstruction by his parents, but remained misdiagnosed in the emergency department for hours before he died. He was allegedly dehydrated from vomiting and had rapid breathing, but was not given treatment for either symptom until he was transferred to the child's ward where he suffered a fatal heart attack. The hospital is being sued for negligence by the boy's parents.
