LeonidesArts will be exhibiting works by the abstract expressionist painter Mark Vinsun, abstract painter Alexander Percy along with the works of the realist afro- panamanian-american painter Ricardo Francis, and from Barbados the realist painter John Wolcott. Photography is by the young afro caribbean-american artist Terrence Benjamin's that compleats the galleries artistic vision. Rooted in the philosophy of human abstractional thought and composed in the worlds of color, light, shade, these emerging artists have set out to explore the world through their racial and cultural heritages. Its true that "artists chronical the times they live in", but in the 21st Century that chronical must also include the multi-racial and cultural society that is florishing beyond national boundaries.
This is SH Contemporary's second year and we hope this dialogue between the west and the east can lead to better understandings between all peoples and cultures.
SH Contemporary 2008 is being held at the spectacular Shanghai Exhibition Center, Shanghai, China.
