Todd Lokken Places Tiger Woods on the Fantasy Golf Fraud List

The biggest news to impact fantasy golf for this year took place this past Tuesday, where Tiger Woods went in for knee surgery. As a result, many fantasy golf players who grabbed Tiger first with the first pick in their drafts are now worried about how to replace him. Depending upon how leagues work, some let you pick up a supplemental player; some say tough luck. Regardless of which choice players have, it is nothing but dark days head for the next 6 weeks or so. You can count on almost no points from Tiger during this time, and this puts Tiger on the fantasy golf fraud list. It's the only time he will probably be on this list, if only to prove there are no favorites.

With so many players skipping this week's tournament (the Verizon Heritage), finding the hot picks and fraud picks are a little difficult, but Lokken is going to give it a try.

Hot Picks

1) Ernie Els--not so great at The Masters, but this lighter field may help him out.

2) Justin Rose--had a great start to The Masters, fell apart on Friday and Saturday, then quietly came back to finish well. He could have a good week.

3) Jim Furyk--"I didn't like Furyk at Augusta", says Lokken. "But, this week could be different. I think he will play well here."

4) Justin Leonard--could be a stretch, but again, the lighter field should help.

And our fraud list:

1) Tiger Woods--bad knee, bad pick (even though he probably wouldn't be playing here if healthy).

2) Davis Love III--another great golfer who has seen his game decline a bit. He is still a popular choice for fantasy players this week, as he used to be in the top 5 here it seemed every year. "His game just isn't back enough to think he can score well, so fantasy players should stay away", says Lokken.

3) Stewart Cink--this one could go either way. "For some reason, I just don't have a good feeling about him", says Lokken.

Just to recap last week, Lokken's hot picks had 3 of the top 15 placers and from the fraud list, 2 out of 3 missed the cut with Furyk making the cut but well behind the leaders.
