Todd Lokken looks at the 2008 NFL draft

Even though there will be many changes between now and April 26th, Todd Lokken, President of Strategic Fantasy Football takes a look at the top ten picks in this year's draft.

"Workouts, tests, interviews, pseudo-contract negotiations and so on will all have an affect on how the top 10 plays out," says Todd Lokken, President of Strategic Fantasy Sports. So, with 2 weeks to go before draft day, here is a look at the top 10 picks:

1) Miami Dolphins: Chris Long, DE-Virginia. "The story last week was Bill Parcells was going to take OL Jake Long from Michigan-that's not happening," says Lokken. Parcells has always been big on defense, and his two best choices are Long or Glenn Dorsey from LSU. The rumors with Dorsey focus on injuries, and Mr. Parcells does not react well to injured players. Hence, the guess here is that Miami takes Long.

2) St. Louis Rams: Glenn Dorsey, DT-LSU. "It's hard to believe the Rams have the 2nd pick, as not long ago the Rams were a strong team. Now, the defense is a mess, and since Long will be off the board, Dorsey is the next best bet, " says Lokken.

3) Atlanta Falcons: Jake Long, OT-Michigan. "This could be a traded pick. While Atlanta could use help on the offensive line, especially to help Michael Turner, they still need a QB", says Lokken. "If they keep the pick, it will be Long. If they trade, they would trade down and probably try to get QB Matt Ryan further down."

4) Oakland Raiders: Darren McFadden, RB-Arkansas. "While it would be strange for McFadden to fall to number 4, imagine the Raiders with Jamarcus Russell (assuming he gets his act together) and McFadden in the backfield," says Lokken.

5) Kansas City Chiefs: Aqib Talib, CB-Kansas. Lokken looks at the Chiefs this way: "The Chiefs need receivers, offensive linemen, and help at the corners. If they don't trade up to get Jake Long, then they will grab Talib."

6) New York Jets: Vernon Gholston, DE-Ohio State. Lokken analysis: "The Jets may also try to trade up to get McFadden, as they should realize by now what a fraud Thomas Jones is at starting RB. If they can't trade up, then the Jets will probably take Gholston."

7) New England Patriots: Branden Albert, OT-Virginia. Lokken says, "the Pats don't need much, but they will be happy to get a young offensive lineman to protect Tom Brady for the next 7 years. Albert fits the bill."

8) Baltimore Ravens: Matt Ryan, QB-Boston College. "It seems like the Ravens haven't had a quarterback since they moved to Baltimore, as even Trent Dilfer, one of the biggest fantasy frauds ever, was a starter. Matt Ryan should give them a solid QB for some time, " says Lokken.

9) Cincinnati Bengals: Derrick Harvey, DE-Florida. Lokken analysis: "Cincinnati needs defensive help, especially on the line. Harvey will bring stability to that spot."

10) New Orleans Saints: Sedrick Ellis, DT-USC. Lokken analysis: "Another team that needs defensive help. The defense let the Saints down in 2007, and to get back to the playoffs, they need to beef up the D. However, one rookie will not make the difference-they do need other players/changes."

"There still could be some free agent moves that affect the top ten. Couple that with workouts and Bill Parcells, the first round, especially the top 5, is constantly changing. Teams want to find that next gold mine, and are wary of getting stuck with a fraud," says Lokken. "Look for many things to change before April 26th, and expect many surprises even on draft day."
