Spring Swim and Waterwear Fashion Show
January 24, 2005 -- Susan DiStaulo and SommerChristine Designs come together for a night of fanciful fun Saturday February 19, 2005 at the lovely new Terroir. At 8pm, 13 of Phoenix’s local models will samba the designer’s creations in swim- and water-wear down the runway just 10 days after the celebration dances it way thru the streets of Rio di Janeiro. Susan DiStaulo and SommerChristine Design will bring color and creativity to one of Scottsdale’s newest wine bars with taste and novelty. Terroir is conveniently located in the Scottsdale Seville Center at Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend.
Susan Di Staulo draws her inspiration from the glamorous Hollywood of the 1920’s and 30’s with a platinum twist. With an affinity to metallic and sequined fabrics, Susan DiStaulo fashions are flirty and fitted and often marked by a “mermaid tail.” Her tailored style understands the curves of a lady, creating a flattering siluette. She is truly passionate about her work and dedicates her life to her art. You can be sure that this dancing mermaid will bring a good show.
SommerChristine Designs are the conception and creation of valley native, Sommer Christine. The young entrepreneur draws motivation and inspiration from her motto: peace, love, and surf~. Her style combines the peace of the “Classic,” the love of the “Glamorous,” and the surfer’s focused surrender in beach athleticism. Sommer’s style is defined by juxtapositions and designs that keep your mind asking questions. Her style is unique and distinctive, yet comfortably familiar. Her expressions in design will be manifest in men and women’s water-wear, ready for the yacht, the pool deck, or the beach…. peace, love, and surf~
“Tall and tan and young and lovely, The girl from Ipanema goes walking, And when she passes, each one she passes goes "a-a-ah!"” (Antonio Carlos Jobim - Norman Gimbel, The Girl from Ipanema)
