New Blog Launched Gay Sex in the City Blog

January 18, 2005 -- gayguy.blogs.com is a new Blog chronicling the New York dating scene. It's sexy to be single; Candace Bushnell's character Carrie Bradshaw won the love of the gay community. Through her fierce individuality we connected and saw ourselves in the "Sex in the City" quest. The show and column empowered countless gay men.

Gay men have mastered the art of being single. We follow the musings and adventures of Skye, a single gay "Carrie Bradshaw-type" man, trying to understand the evolving gay community, while searching for commitment.

The Blog focuses not only on Skye's dating experiences, but on gay culture as a whole through various media outlets, from TV shows to books. The aim is to promote awareness and create a gay relationship roll-model that feels comfortable in a relationship.

Posts will include a look at the New York gay community, from it bars to dating practices. Online dating will also be a focus, the prevalence of gay.com and other dating services will be looked at; because an increasing number of technology savvy gay men have chosen this option to meet each other.

The advent of Metrosexuals and their effect on dating has already been discussed, following posts will highlight how to deal with rejection and finding out if the interested guy is actually gay.

“This is when I find out that he’s been dating Beth for a while. Eke. A woman’s name, I’m stunned, I had faith that my gaydar would once again succeed, yet I was at a mixed party so I should have known. All of a sudden I feel like I’m in high school totally into the wrong guy. I once again find my renewed interest in gay bars. These are safe havens where I know I’ll be hitting on a homosexual male. Fine they might not be into me, fine they could turn into a cocainhead, yet they will be gay, this is assured – quite often anyway.”

“I love it. Simply said the casting is brilliant and the documentary feel makes it enjoyable. Nothing like Real World, Americans Top Model, or gasp – Manhunt, but more like the Apprentice; these contestants have serious talent. I’m a self confessed Apprentice addict. I find myself watching other reality shows; only when drunk, or simply to reinforce my belief that there are stupider people in the world then I.”

Humor and wit are the main tools that drive this Blog. gayguy.blogs.com is a new look that will provide a more in-depth look at a very diverse gay community.
