118 Trades Announces Apprentice Programme to Find the Next MD

118 trades part of 118 Group, is a fast growing directory business based in Chelmsford. Daniel Corby CEO explains.



I was amazed at the number of our staff that came to work this summer discussing the hit BBC2 show which starred Alan Sugar, and as I listen to our staff discuss who they would have fired, I thought what a great idea it would be to run our own version of the Apprentice. And that'ss what we'sre going to do.



118 group will short list just 10 people from around 200 existing staff and entrants from outside of our employment, to find a team of just 10 hot shots. Each week, the teams will be given a challenge and each week, somebody will be fired.



Fired back into the business that is and not from the business!



At the end of the 10 week challenge, one lucky winner, will become the MD of one of our companies within the 118 Group. They will also win £10,000, get a BMW118 as a company car, and take on a package worth £100,000 per year as they take on the role of MD.



The companies within the group include 118trades, 118telecom, 118gethitched and Carauto - our latest acquisiton.



We are taking CV'ss now for the forthcoming apprentice programme and would ask interested applicants to e-mail their CV.



Interviews will take place In August and September and the programme will go live in October. The winner will be announced in December and they will take up the MD role in January 2007.
