3000 Pounds Of Advertising Space Auctioning On eBay
Sixteen eBay sellers are joining together for what could be the biggest advertising stunt yet. From the four corners of the United States and Canada, the hopeful high profilers (a slang term in the eBay community used to describe any auction that receives alot of attention) plan to meet in Las Vegas, Nevada for three days and three nights while wearing the winning bidder's logo, web address, and/or slogan during Veteran's day weekend.
With all the hype about human advertisement space, these auctioneers (who, for security reasons, wish to remain anonymous for the time being) want a piece of the pie. Most human billboards that have been
auctioned off have disclaimers about what can be advertised. This one doesn't. Anything goes for this crowd.
The ten day auction began July 18th, 2005. They have been working on this idea for two months and are very excited about it finally coming together.
All 16 hopefuls met each other on a website forum that assists and promotes online auctions. Most of them doting on items listed under eBay's Totally Bizarre category and auctions listed on eBay's Pulse webpage.
While waiting for the next 'big one' to be
auctioned off , the members chat about their lives and get to know each other. Instead of waiting this time, they are attempting to make it.
