Elite Modeling Agency Claims Fraud in Israel
The ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT agency has specified that it does not directly or indirectly run any model agency in Israel.
Elite Model Management has further declared that it has initiated a lawsuit for counterfeiting of its brand "Elite Model Management" against the Israeli company called ELITE MODEL ISRAEL, which illegally claims to be part of the ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT network within the scope of it's modeling agency business in fraud of the intellectual property rights belonging to ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT. As of date of this press release the lawsuit has not been filed in a court of law in Israel.
In addition ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT has precised that Mr. Shai Avital is not employed nor representative for the company ELITE MODEL MANAGEMENT or any other entity of the ELITE group.
In 2003 Mr. Shy Avital and Mr. Oren Plotkin an attorney in Israel registered Elite Model Israel as a company in Israel claiming on their website www.elite-model.co.il to be part of the Elite Model Management network. In late 2003 they organized a television contest called "Elite Model 2003", later suing the model who won the contest for leaving the agency after she realized that they were not part of the real Elite network. On June 12, 2005 in Tel-Aviv, Israel Mr. Avital was arrested along with Michel Adams the founder and head of Paris-based satellite channel Fashion TV on suspicion of sexual assault. Media reports including Israels Yediot Ahronot newspaper Internet service, Ynet have quoted Israeli police saying Mr. Adams and Mr. Avital were arrested following a complaint by a young model who said Mr. Adams and Mr. Avital sexually abused her in the restroom of the Fashion Bar nightclub in Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv magistrates ordered Mr Adams placed under house arrest for six days and Mr. Avital was released on bail. Mr. Avital was already on bail for a separate case involving suspicion of sexual assault of a minor. No indictments have been filed against Mr. Avital or Mr. Adams as both cases are still being investigated by the Israeli police.
