Boston-based agency Almighty announced today the addition of Walden Media to their ever growing stable of high-profile clients.
Walden Media - best known for producing such films as Holes, Because of Winn-Dixie and the upcoming The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - will work closely with
Almighty to further develop and enhance its online presence.
"What is so appealing about Walden Media is the fact that its films all tie back to its stated mission of producing entertainment that is inherently educational" said Ian Fitzpatrick,
Partner. "Walden Media's commitment to education is unique for a film company and Almighty will rework Walden's online presence so that it can best serve its growing community of
educators."
Walden Media and Walt Disney Pictures will release The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in theatres nationwide on December 9. In 2006, Walden Media will join
Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies to release the film adaptation of Charlotte's Web, and will partner with New Line Cinema to release adaptations of Carl Hiaasen's Hoot and Thomas
Rockwell's How to Eat Fried Worms.
"When you consider the vitality of the literature that Walden Media is working with, its commitment to its mission, and the people at Walden who are making it happen," said Fitzpatrick,
"we couldn't hope for a better company to work with."
"Our films, educational materials and innovative teaching programs are all aimed at producing the type of content that will light a spark and ignite the learning process" said Walden
Media co-founder and educational reformer Michael Flaherty . "Our website is key to keep those fires burning and we have planned a big online push to make that happen. We are so pleased
that Almighty is on board to lend their deep talent and expertise to this endeavor."
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, except to really important people.
