Cognetix Adds StaffGains Additional Experienced Knowledgeable Personnel



January 27, 2005 -- Cognetix has added two new staff members. - Tim Hogan has joined Cognetix as an Art Director. Tim's background is in advertising and branding design. His prior experience includes Reed Advertising (Knoxville, TN), F&W Publications (Cincinnati, OH) and Gee Creative (Charleston, SC).



Cheryl Van Landingham Smithem has joined Cognetix as a Senior Account Executive. She was most recently Director of Public Relations for Bishop Gadsden, an active retirement community in Charleston. Previously, she owned her own company, Strategic Marketing and Public Relations. Cheryl was Director of Business Development with Maverick Southern Kitchens, developers of the world famous restaurant Slightly North of Broad (SNOB), for seven years and Executive Director for the Charleston Area Arts Council for six years. Cheryl is responsible for managing accounts and providing public relations services to clients.



Cognetix, LLC, headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina was established in 2000. The firm supplies clients with strategic communications and marketing consultation, art direction, graphic design, media buying and placement. Cognetix is well known for the wildly successful marketing campaign for "Outhouse Springs", a fictitious bottled water. The campaign demonstrated the power of outdoor advertising and was featured in Stuart Elliott's On Advertising column in the NY Times and has been the topic of many board rooms and chat rooms.
