KUA Annual Report Honored with Three ADDY Awards

Kissimmee Utility Authority'ss 2005 annual report has received three ADDY awards from the Orlando club of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).

The awards were presented Feb. 24 at Hard Rock Live Orlando in Universal Studios CityWalk.

KUA'ss annual report received gold ADDY awards in both the 4-color annual report and color photography categories. In addition, the report was honored with a silver ADDY for its interactive online version.

The 48-page annual report -- titled A Lifetime of Power -- pays tribute to the utility'ss Roy E. Hansel diesel plant which was decommissioned in September 2005 after 104 years of continuous service. The report is available online at http://www.kua.com/Corporate/Press/Reports/2005/2005_Annual_Report.html.

The annual report was produced by KUA'ss corporate communications division with assistance from graphic design firm Popcorn Initiative and commercial photographer Ed McDonald, both of Orlando.

The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry'ss largest and most representative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide. The awards are unique among competitions because they include three rigorous levels of judging: local, regional and national/international.

The gold entries will now advance to the AAF Fourth District where they will compete with entries from Florida, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida'ss sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
