Phoenix marketing agency president/CEO Allan Starr has reported an uptick in business for the award-winning strategic marketing, advertising and public relations firm he founded in the mid-Seventies.
Starr, a 32-year industry veteran who still leads his agency, has seen his Arizona advertising business through at least four major downturns in the economy over the past 32 years, says
this one seems like it has the potential of becoming the deepest before it has run its course.
Unfortunately, some other Phoenix public relations people I'sve talked to recently say, that while caution has always been the byword in such turbulent times, so far this one has taken
the cake. They feel this way, he says, because many of their clients are putting things on hold while they take a wait-and-see approach.
Starr says that becoming overly reactionary in such a downturn can amount to a self-fulfilling prophecy of business shrinkage, or, taken to its extreme, failure. So, the veteran marketing
consultant has, himself, taken a more proactive approach by imploring his clients and many business associates to step up to the bar and reach out aggressively for more business.
Starr says that this strategy has begun to produce results in terms of his agency being able to create some significant new business, and, in turn, for some of his clients to see some
business breakthroughs, themselves.
I'sve heard more happy stories in the past couple of weeks than in the previous two months, and the more progressive people are seeing their marketing plans bear fruit in a gratifying
way, says the longtime Phoenix marketing practitioner.
Member of a number of business associations, Starr says that though it is too early to tell, there seems to be a definite relationship between the good news stories he hears from friends
and associates, and people who are forcing the action through increased marketing effort.
A former president of the Arizona Small Business Assn., district governor of the American Advertising Federation and current board member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Starr
believes that advertising agencies, marketing and public relations agencies must lead the way by example, and points to his agency'ss recent client-list growth and his clients's own
recent successes as proof. For more information please visit our website Marketing Partners Website (http://www.markpart.com).
