RussianAmerican Advertising Activity Slowed in February 2005 Press...

April 1, 2005 -- Current situation of the Russian-American advertising market can be assessed in review of its key measure, Advertisement Activity Index, calculated and published monthly by Press Release Group. February 2005 is the second month when the index is being calculated.



In February 2005 Russian-American Advertising Activity Index value dropped 6 point to 94.



February data shows that advertising activity in the Russian market has slowed. More than 50% of the respondents indicated that the volume of advertising decreased in the last month. Lowest advertising activity in February has been reported in the print media and Radio. This cab be partly explained by seasonal fluctuations. Traditionally, peak of the business and advertising activity occurs in April and May, and some of the advertisers might have allocated their advertising budgets accordingly.



Russian-American television has reported slight overall increase of the advertising activity, partially likely because of increase of demand for national ethnic media.
