Spanish Marketing Inc wins contract with MADD

April 3, 2005 -- Spanish Marketing, Inc., a Dallas-based marketing agency, announced today that it has won a contract with MADD to launch a major national campaign targeting the Hispanic community.



The campaign is set to launch in time for Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15). The campaign is made possible through a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.



The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of the dangers of drunk driving to the Hispanic community and of the legal ramifications of drunk driving for immigrants. Cultural factors such as a more relaxed view of alcohol consumption, especially at a younger age, account for some of the high numbers of drunk-driving incidents amongst the Hispanic population.



"This awareness campaign will provide excellent information for the betterment of our Hispanic population here in the U.S," said Mireya Valero, president of Spanish Marketing, Inc. "We are both proud and humbled by a true sense of responsibility to have been entrusted with this important mission."



Immigrants convicted of a felony DUI can face deportation proceedings, as a felony DUI conviction is grounds for deportation. Even immigrants who have lived in the U.S. for decades can be deported if convicted. Many are simply unaware of such laws until it is too late.
