Web Developer Donates Website to Promote Shopping in Moorpark

Michael Chandler, owner of web development firm RM Web Effects, is pleased to announce the launch of ShopInMoorpark.com. This new website encourages residents and business owners in the City of Moorpark to keep their business in town to help boost the local economy.

"The City of Moorpark is a special city for me," says Michael Chandler, owner of a website development firm and creator of an online database of Moorpark merchants called "ShopInMoorpark.com". The ShopInMoorpark.com website's purpose is to promote shopping within the Moorpark city limits. Shopping locally keeps all city-derived sales tax within the community, better enabling the city to provide services for businesses and residents.

Chandler lives in neighboring Simi Valley, so why Moorpark "Former Moorpark Chamber CEO, Virginia Hayward, was so kind and supportive of me several years ago during a difficult time in my life," Chandler explained. "A few years ago, I went through a divorce. It affected my performance as a business owner, straining my relationship with my business partner which ultimately led to the demise of my small company. I felt very alone, but Virginia was very supportive of my efforts to get back on my feet, even referring business to my new company. I want to demonstrate that her type of leadership has a lasting effect."

The website is a free community service, developed and maintained at no cost to anyone by Chandler's web development firm, RM Web Effects. Chandler's previous company originally developed a similar program for the City of Simi Valley in 2005. "The Simi project was supported by the local chamber and city management," Chandler said. "This project is a 'labor of love' so it's not well known yet and the database is sparsely populated." Despite the website's currently low profile, Chandler hopes to win the support of the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce and local Moorpark based businesses to help spread the word.

ShopInMoorpark.com is now online and actively seeking business participants in its online database. If you own a business within the Moorpark city limits, you are invited to submit your business name, contact details, business description and any special offer or promotions, free of charge. Moorpark residents and visitors are encouraged to browse the ShopInMoorpark.com website to find local merchants conveniently categorized on the site before going out to shop. Keeping your business in town is beneficial for the community as a whole.
