Webpavement congratulates Urban Display Network for being honored as a 3G A-List's8482; Award winner. Now in its third year, the QUALCOMM-sponsored awards program is designed to recognize
innovative and successful commercially deployed enterprise wireless data solutions based on third-generation (3G) CDMA standards. During CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2005 in San
Francisco, Urban Display Network received the CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Implementation award. Urban Display Network operates the largest outdoor street level digital sign network in United States
using Webpavement's8217;s digital signage software. Advertising space is sold by Clear Channel Outdoor.
Previously, all digital signs were connected to a Wi-Fi hot spot network. The Wi-Fi network proved intermittent hindering the digital signs ability to present real time information. But
when 1xEV-DO wireless broadband became available in New York City, the ideal solution was born. The ubiquitous coverage's8212;and greater penetration of the 800 MHz cellular
band's8212;made it more reliable and delivered the necessary transmission speeds.
The EVDO implementation allows Clear Channel to sell new advertising products. For example, Clear Channel can now sell narrowcast advertising products to sought-after neighborhoods such
as the Manhattan Financial District or China Town. To enhance the playlists from advertising only, winning lottery numbers, weather conditions, threat advisory levels and other types of
real time information are displayed on the digital street network with confidence.
's8220;QUALCOMM congratulates Webpavement and Urban Display Network, along with the other recipients of this year's8217;s 3G A-List Awards, for their collaboration in the successful
deployment of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO,'s8221; said Kristin Taylor, director of enterprise business development for QUALCOMM. 's8220;Through Webpavement, Urban Display Network was able to
integrate the business benefits of 3G to create an innovative solution that demonstrated increased productivity and ROI and redefined how mobility can enable business.'s8221;
The annual 3G A-List Awards, formerly the 3G cdmA-List Awards, honor outstanding wireless implementations that demonstrate creativity and innovation, overall business impact and how the
