Rapid Ratings's8482; International Inc. announced today that Sequent Energy Management, LP (Sequent), based in Houston, TX, has subscribed to Rapid Ratings's suite of products for measuring corporate counterparty risk and supply chain risk exposures.
Sequent, a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlanta-based AGL Resources Inc. (NYSE:AGL), will use Rapid Ratings's Financial Health Ratings (FHRs's8482;) and Estimated Probabilities of Default
(EPD) to evaluate and manage the risks associated with both public and private companies that are vendors and suppliers to Sequent.
Rapid Ratings will be added to our suite of tools used to assist in monitoring and evaluating the financial health of our counterparties said Denis Vermette, Managing Director, Sequent
Energy Management and current President of the International Energy Credit Association (IECA). Using Rapid Ratings's FHR and EPD will allow us to be more proactive in monitoring credit
risk and mitigating our exposure in advance of a credit event. I have always considered our Credit Department to be 'scutting edge's but I think adding these additional tools to our tool
chest will make us even better, giving us a further competitive advantage.
Rapid Ratings is excited to be a part of Sequent'ss risk management strategy, said James H. Gellert, Chairman and CEO of Rapid Ratings. Sequent Energy Management and Denis Vermette,
personally, are both highly respected in the energy risk management community. We are pleased to be working with Sequent as a valuable input to its counterparty risk management process. I
am confident that our analytical tools will add value to Sequent'ss already strong risk management capabilities.
