New Yuma Church Brings A New Direction


The newly formed New Directions Ministries, will meet at the Quality Inn Conference Center, and is planning an official launch of its congregation on Sunday July 23, 2006. Offering an energetic soulful, contemporary approach to worship, the congregation is striving to reach people who do not attend church. As well as newcomers to the Yuma area seeking a dynamic worship centered service. We came together months ago and have been building an intimate launch team, One of the founding members said. The launch team has been holding regular bi-weekly meetings. She further adds Our target audience is people who don'st go church,'s8221; We are not a congregation who is trying to get people to leave other churches although everyone is welcomed to join.

The churches doctrine can best be described as evangelical in that they believe in the Bible as the Word of God and its account of Jesus Christ'ss birth -- as well as the gift of the Holy Ghost to empower one to live and serve in this present world.

The church Worship leader seeks to involve the entire congregation in entering into enthusiastic praise and singing. The ministerial staff facilitates an environment that promotes the involvement of the entire family by featuring 's8220;Youth Engaged in Ministry's8221; where there will be a performing arts showcase from the youth ministry each Sunday. The church is endeavoring to create an environment of family worship in essence and design. The youth department is fun filled and highly engaging providing varied and frequent opportunities for youth to participate in performing arts such as dance, choral singing, drama and outings especially designed to rid youth of boredom and apathy.

The goal of the New Direction Ministries is to impact the Yuma Community by ministering to the needs of families, teens and single parents providing opportunities to empower them to be all that's8230; God would have them be. Further it is their intent to serve Yuma's8217;s newcomers by being a connection to the community and all it has to offer, while fostering warm cordial friendships in the process.
