Nigerian Senate President Chief Ken Nnamani Inaugurates California Nigerian Forum with the First in a Series of Speaker Forums

California Nigerian Forum (CNF), an organization that strives to advance the relationship between the United States and Nigeria, affirmed the success of the group's8217;s inaugural event, declaring Chief Nnamani's8217;s address would be a cornerstone in the company's8217;s origins. President Dr. Steve Ugbah and the Executive Director Ernest Ezeoha announced the launch of CNF by the President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Ken Nnamani at the Emeryville Holiday Inn on Friday, July 28, 2006. 's8220;We couldn's8217;t have had a better start,'s8221; enthused an excited Mr. Ezeoha. Dr. Ugbah concurred, 's8220;Chief Ken Nnamani's8217;s visit was not only an inspiration it was a historical and remarkable beginning.'s8221;

During his presentation at the inauguration, Chief Nnamani discussed various issues on current events and prospects for the future of Nigeria. The central theme was the pivotal significance of the forthcoming Nigerian election in 2007. He stated that it is of the utmost importance that the election of the next Nigerian President is conducted in a transparent, credible, fair and free manner in order to give legitimacy and support to the next administration by Nigerians and the international community. He commended President Olusegun Obasanjo for the reforms and great progress Nigeria has made during his administration. He believes that the greatest political legacy of the present administration will be measured by how credible the 2007 election is conducted and its ability 's8220;to transit without rancor's8221; from one regime to another. Other significant points he discussed included economic and legislative developments in Nigeria to enhance its attractiveness to investors and curtail corruption. He encouraged Nigerians to be good ambassadors of Nigeria wherever they are.

Dr. Herbert Orji, the Chairman and CEO of Summa Guranty and Trust, and a member of the delegation who accompanied Chief Nnamani to the San Francisco Bay Area echoed similar sentiments.
