"We are pleased to welcome His Excellency Judge Koroma to the bay area. His work and accomplishments in the field of law are exemplary. It is with great honor that we are holding a dinner to mark his historic trip," said Okeke.
Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone the Honorable Koroma became a member of the International Court of Justice in February 1994 which has its seat in The Hague, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. He attended King's College University of London.
The importance of The World Court is unparalleled. Having had its seat in the Peace Palace in The Hague (Netherlands) since 1946, its predecessor, the Permanent Court of International Justice, occupied from 1922 the same premises, made available to it by the Carnegie Foundation, which owns and administers the Peace Palace.
On Friday April, 19, he will be participating and keynoting the Golden Gate University School of Law. Followed by the grand dinner reception on Saturday April 19, where an open invitation has been extended to the public. The affair will be held at Scotts Sea Food Restaurant, Jack London Square, Oakland, California. Time: 7 p.m. Cost: $75 per head; $150 couple; sponsored table $1,000.
