Aditi Pictures Presents Its Off-Broadway Play The Newlyweds From May 21-31, 2009


With a run of 12 performances, this contemporary and hip production will take audiences on a journey as deception and lies leads to love and marriage through sickness and no wealth. Set within the hustle and bustle of affluent current day Midtown Manhattan. This romantic comedy will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions as its characters try to survive love without the worldly riches that each one was initially set out for. BE Rivers and Philip Smith, stars from the acclaimed Platanos and Collard Greens are both featured in the play.


New York, NY April 24, 2009 -- Aditi Pictures is back with its acclaimed Off-Broadway comedy, The Newlyweds. From May 21-31, 2009, this contemporary and hip production will show at the ATA American Theatre of Actors (314 W. 54th St.).With a run of 12 performances, audiences will be taken on a journey as deception and lies leads to love and marriage through sickness and no wealth.

Set within the hustle and bustle of affluent current day Midtown Manhattan. The Newlyweds tells a reality-biting story of Mallory Calderone, the live-in housekeeper of a wealthy family and fast-talking hustler, Shaun Wilson who finds themselves over involved in a serious lie. They are not the multi-millionaire counterparts that both portray themselves to be. Shaun Wilson has hit rock bottom and is on a search for a rich woman to escape his financial woes when he meets Mallory Calderone dressed in her employer'ss clothes and driving down Park Avenue in her employer'ss car. After a quick rush to the alter before their covers are revealed, this romantic comedy will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions as these imposters try to survive love without the worldly riches they both intended to find.



The Newlyweds is written and directed by Beverly Orozco, produced by Terrence Patterson and stage managed by Shawna Cathey of Aditi Pictures. Original set design is by Ken Larsen.



The production of The Newlyweds first opened on October 2006 and again in April 2007 at The Producers Club. This September, The Newlyweds will be playing in Charleston, SC at the Charleston Music Hall.
