For the first time ever, ordinary people will be given the opportunity to select the very best movies and actors in Hollywood.
As part of a new era of interactivity, The 2009 American Movie Awards will now open voting to select members of the public for the very first time.
From now until January 25, film fans can visit http://www.AmericanMovieAwards.info and register to vote for the 2009 American Movie Awards
A select number of fans can will be allowed to receive full voting privileges as a member of the American Movie Awards Selection Committee. This year's official ballot will be sent to
committee members by January 26, 2009. Award winners will be revealed on February 26, 2009.
In addition, new members will receive a 2009 American Movie Awards Selection Committee membership certificate to prove their credibility as a recognized film critic and reviewer.
Nominees for the 2009 American Movie Awards are determined from a comprehensive listing of all motion pictures released between January 26, 2008 and January 26, 2009.
The award winners in each category will be determined by the overall votes by the Selection Committee and will be announced on February 26, 2009. The winner in each category will be
determined by the sum total of first-place, second-place, and third-place votes it received.
Selection Committee members will decide winners in each of the following categories:
Best Film
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Director
Best Screenplay
Best Song
Favorite Film Star - Male
Favorite Film Star - Female
In addition, a Special Marquee Award will be presented by the American Movie Awards.
