Fluge Global Adventures ThreeCar Team Wraps Up Successful Test Day...



Fluge Global Adventures's (FGA) three-car assault on the Rose Cup Races this weekend wrapped up a successful test day at Portland International Raceway (PIR) Tuesday. Both Harris and Fluge set personal best speed records in preparation for the weekend'ss event.



Portland'ss Nick Fluge competes Saturday in his ITE Class Fluge Global Adventures (FGA) 2005 Chevrolet Corvette in hopes of beating a pack of Turbo Porsches in the Festival Trophy Race presented by Pro Drive Racing School.



Professional race driver and Pro Drive school owner Todd Harris of Tigard drives the FGA GT1 Corvette in Sunday'ss Rose Cup Races presented by Temp-Control Mechanical Corp. Wilsonville'ss Matt Crandall drives the FGA Panoz GTS in the GT2 class.



To cap off the weekend of motorsport activities, Fluge Global Adventures also announced charitable donations of nearly $20,000 dollars to north Portland community programs and the Portland Rose Festival Charitable Foundation.



The Foundation supports youth, education, arts and the environment along with Rose Festival historical curriculum that was presented to 3rd through 5th graders this year, teaching school children in the Portland-metro area about the history of Portland and the Rose Festival.



We are proud to be a part of Oregon Region Sports Car Club of America competition at Portland International Raceway, as well as being a participant in community-related projects that benefit everyone in north Portland, Nick Fluge said. The Oregon Region Road Racing Championship, consisting of six events this season at PIR, is presented by Fluge Global Adventures.



Festival Trophy Race Prize Presentation Saturday



$10,000 to North Portland Youth Soccer - Presented to Ruma Perez of Santos FC by Nick Fluge of Fluge Global Adventures on the winners's podium.



Santos FC was founded in 1999 to provide Hispanic youth the opportunity to participate and compete in organized soccer, regardless of economic limitations or cultural barriers. The cultural diversity of Santos FC teams has been successful at bringing families together with the common goal of exposing their children to team play and teaching them to appreciate cultural differences.



Rose Cup Prize Presentations Sunday



Donations for the Rose Cup race Sunday are:



1st Place Finisher - $5000 presented on the podium by the first place finisher to Ron Carr, Portland Rose Festival Committee Foundation board member.



2nd Place Finisher - $2500 to Friends of Portland International Raceway (FOPIR) presented on the podium by the second place finisher to Gary Bockman.



Friends of PIR are committed to the preservation and enhancement of PIR as a resource for both participants and spectators alike, sustaining and expanding PIR'ss civic contribution as an institution in north Portland, and providing guidance and support for the ongoing management of PIR in a manner that assures its ongoing value as a venue for motorsports and other diverse forms of recreation and entertainment.



3rd Place Finisher - $1000 presented on the podium by the third place finisher to the Community Transitional School.



Community Transitional School (CTS) is a private school dedicated to the needs of children whose families are homeless or living in transition. CTS provides a stable, supportive environment that promotes both their personal and academic growth and combines character education with a curriculum that helps students succeed and develop their individual strengths. Founded in 1990, the school serves about 200 children every year.

For 2007, Fluge has custom designed a series of events and adventures sure to please anyone wishing to rekindle their relationship with adrenaline and excitement.



These include a 19,000 foot summit run at Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, a 3,000-mile cross country road race in The Great American Run, a very serious hike to the Base Camp at Mt. Everest in Nepal, a full scale onslaught on the World Series of Poker, and high octane adventures in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) behind the wheel of Corvette super cars.



His SCCA auto racing adventure is in full swing, with Fluge leading the championship point standings for the year in the ITE class with his Chevrolet Corvette. Next up are the annual Rose Cup Races at Portland International Raceway (PIR) on June 1-3. Fluge is leading a three-car team in pursuit of winning the two featured races: the Rose Cup on Sunday and the Festival Trophy race on Saturday. His final race of the year will be the June 30-July1 Pro Drive Regionals at PIR.



Fluge then moves on to Las Vegas to play in three World Series of Poker Events (WSOP) on June 9, June 20 and in the Main Event on July 8.



What follows is a two-car assault on the world'ss largest car rally, the Great American Run, from July 29-Aug 2. After crossing the United States he is on to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro from August 14-30, and later to the Mt. Everest Base Camp Oct 6-30.
