Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences & Technology , Bangalore has undertaken the project of Fifty Lakh(50,00,000) Lakshmi Taru (Simarouba glauca) plantation all over India with comitted efforts of Art of Living Volunteers & blessings of Poojya Sri Sri Ravishankaraji On His 50th Birthday.

The initiative is expected to engineer a 'sYellow Revolution's in the country by converting the vast area of barren wasteland into fertile greenland. Sri Sri has christened it 'sLakshmi Taru's, meaning 'sProsperity Tree's owing to its potential. According to AoL sources ,the tree will be very lucative proposition for the grower as every part of the tree is useful and it yeilds oil,oilcake , fruit pulp and leaf litter for over 60 years. Apart from ensuring farmers, its cultivation will also bridge the rising gap in India'ss edible oil demand and save millions of rupees in foreign exchange as the seeds contain 75 percent edible oil, which is cholesterol free. This tree will also stop soil errosion and create productive saline and alkaline lands.
