June 11, 2005 -- On the heels of its latest direct marketing effort in May 2005, the Cryonics Society has so far managed to reach a total of over 35,000 Americans with mailings advocating
public support for cryonics as a humanitarian effort to save and extend life, and as a viable and respectable research goal.
Results are still coming in, but the Society effort remains a unprecendented historic first.
Traditionally, cryonics has been presented to the public through the presentations by the major press, film, and television outlets. While often prepared in good faith, many of these
presentations have been either underinformed or misinformed, and on occasion wildly inaccurate or prejudicial, sending a negative message that has preceded legal and legislative efforts
to curb what some believe may be the emergence of one of the most life-saving bio-medical technologies ever conceived.
An informed and unbiased presentation of the potential benefits of cryonics may be the keystone to changing a situation discouraging to scientific research, medical knowledge, and
potentially blocking a source of hope and potential aid to an untold number of medically threatened human lives.
The generous contributions and membership donations of its members have allowed the Cryonics Society to fund such a presentation, with surely positive effects. The Society has issued a
public statement of thanks its members and supporters, all of whose contributions has helped make this unprecendented outreach effort possible.
