A Garden of Healing: Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Nutrition for Dogs and Cats



Come join us on Sunday afternoon, May 7, 2006, when Drs. Shelley Epstein and Elissa Green speak on alternative therapies and natural diets for dogs and cats. The location is the beautiful Delaware Center for Horticulture located at 1810 North DuPont Street in Wilmington. Admission is free.



Schedule of Events:



1-2pm: Homeopathy, Shelley R. Epstein, V.M.D

This 200-year-old medicine is experiencing a major resurgence throughout the world, including in veterinary medicine. Homeopathy is focused on the whole patient, and can be used to treat almost any disorder including anxieties and fears, skin problems and gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Epstein will provide a brief introduction and then share a variety of her cured cases with you.



2-3pm: Acupuncture, Elissa Green, D.V.M.

Acupuncture has been practiced for over 5000 years and holds many benefits for our patients. Dr. Green will briefly explain how acupuncture works, and show you how this art can be used to relieve pain in arthritic animals, restore function in intervertebral disc disease patients, and help animals with chronic medical conditions such as kidney disease or cancer feel better.



3-4pm: Natural Nutrition, Shelley R. Epstein, V.M.D.

The past decade has seen an increase in the popularity of raw food diets for dogs and cats. Dr. Epstein will review the pros and cons of feeding these diets versus commercial processed diets, and will offer some advice on nutrition for pets with special diseases like feline hyperthyroidism and diabetes and canine Cushings Disease and arthritis.
