In the book, Creativille, Inc. will showcase its commercial brand identity work for Helzberg Diamonds, a Kansas City-based retail mall jeweler and HBF Textiles, a commercial textiles company located in Hickory, NC; its organizational re-branding effort for the Edwardsville/Glen Chamber of Commerce; institutional branding for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and The Gardens at SIUE and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Ill. Among its other works showcased are its employee communications and recruiting systems for Christian Hospital and the company's work in the area of new product development and merchandise to include such creative products as a messenger bag made of recycled billboard materials.
According to Steve Hartman, president of Creativille, Inc., and creative director of the design products to be featured, "Creativille is a small design firm, located in a small Midwestern town that is doing big, big things. Our inclusion in DesignersUSA2 will introduce Creativille's work to the world with its international distribution. Having been selected as a showcase design firm in DesignersUSA2 is a tremendous compliment to the work we do for clients and I am so pleased that our work is considered among the other talent featured in the book."
As Creativille's president, Hartman is also a sought after speaker in the graphic design community and is often invited to judge design competitions throughout the United States. In November, Hartman traveled to Washington, D.C., to judge regional design competitions for the AIGA, the Professional Association for Design, and will travel to the states of South Dakota and Nebraska for a two-day lecture tour addressing design students and design professionals on the trends and work of the industry. His Nebraska stop will include an interview on the wildly popular "Be a Design Cast" design trade Podcast.
A resident of Edwardsville, Hartman established Creativille, Inc. in 2000. The company's roster of clients includes a diverse mix of Fortune 500 companies, private corporations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations located throughout the United States. Hartman sits on the National Board of Directors for AIGA, the largest design association, and has featured work in most international design books, publications and award annuals. He is also an active member of the local business community and has donated his time to the Edwardsville Arts Center.
