Brylen Homes Receives Coveted Aurora Award for Barcelona Model in Palencia



Brylen Homes was recently honored with an Aurora Award for the design of the Barcelona model in Palencia, the master-planned community boarding the Intracoastal Waterway in St. John'ss County.

This year'ss winners were selected from among 72 categories by a panel of industry experts and were honored at the 25th Annual Aurora Awards Gala/Spectacular on Saturday evening, August 5, 2006, at the Southeast Building Conference in Orlando, Florida. The Aurora Awards program is affiliated with the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) and the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC), one of two regional trade shows recognized by and affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).



The Barcelona, Brylen Homes's townhome model at Palencia Village, was designed by The Evans Group architects and decorated by Sisler Johnston Interior Design. Reminiscent of historic Spanish Colonial design, The Barcelona offers a spacious, two-story floorplan with a two-car garage.



The home is decorated in savory green and cinnamon rust tones with black as a dramatic accent. The living room/dining room area opens into the gourmet kitchen featuring custom cabinetry in deep cappuccino tones and granite countertops highlighted by a tumbled marbled backsplash. A roomy master suite and bedrooms designed with attention to architectural detail enhance the comfortable lifestyle. The master suite reflects a neutral palette of color tones in the paint, trim and carpeting. The master bedroom features a Camden Hall traditional King poster bed and comfortable seating area. The spacious master bath has a double vanity, walk-in shower, elevated Jacuzzi tub highlighted by tile patterning and a silver gilded, carved wood mirror.

A decorative stairway opens onto a double sized bonus room upstairs containing a billiards table, entertainment center with sofa, lounge chair and accent tables, and a spacious well-equipped entertainment kitchen with granite countertops, porcelain tile and custom cabinetry.



There are also two generous sized bedrooms upstairs. One features a Key West tropical motif with fluted rattan headboards on twin beds accompanied by a coordinated rattan and wicker dresser and an iron accent mirror. The other bedroom has a queen-sized bed with an iron bed. A hand-painted dresser highlights a Verde marble top and Verde green accents throughout the room complete the space. This bedroom opens to the upstairs bath, which has a tub and shower and plenty of cabinets.



The Barcelona offers stately 8's glass entry doors, crown molding in formal areas, architecturally paneled two-car garage doors, professionally landscaped yard with fully automatic irrigation and private rear garden.
