Hixson, a Cincinnati-based architecture, engineering and interior design firm, announced today that Bryon Sutherly and Paul Joseph Thamann have joined the firm's8217;s architecture
department, Bret Heckman has joined the firm's8217;s Electrical Engineering department and Scott Hodel is the newest member of the Hixson Project Management team.
Bryon Sutherly returns to Hixson after a 10-year absence as a Senior Project Architect. In this role, he is responsible for project tasks and design, specifications, technical content,
and coordination with other disciplines primarily for Office-related projects.
Sutherly's8217;s career began at Hixson in 1980 as a University of Cincinnati co-op student. As his career progressed, he held a variety of positions in the Architecture and Interior
Design departments. In 1996, Sutherly went into private practice before spending the past two years as a Vice President for a local firm. Sutherly holds a Bachelor of Architecture from
University of Cincinnati.
Paul J. Thamann joins Hixson as a Project Designer. In this capacity, Thamann will be involved in all aspects of a project from Preliminary Design through Construction Documents as well
as coordination with the Engineering disciplines within Hixson.
Prior to joining Hixson, Thamann taught First Year Architecture Studio at the University of Kentucky's8217;s College of Design. Thamann, who holds a Bachelor of Architecture from that
institution, also earned his Master's8217;s of Architecture there, assisting in the design of a new college campus in the city of Kyushu, Japan for his Master's8217;s thesis.
Bret Heckman joins Hixson as an Electrical Engineer. In this role, Heckman designs electrical systems for industrial and commercial facilities.
Heckman recently obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Cincinnati. His previous experience includes an Electrical Engineering Co-Op position with Hill-Rom and
serving as an Electrical Lab Technician for General Cable Corp.
Scott Hodel joins Hixson as an Associate Project Manager. In this capacity, Hodel will assist Project Managers in directing the efforts of project teams comprised of associates from
multiple disciplines.
Hodel, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, is a 2006 graduate of Miami University where he earned a B.S. in Applied Science/Mechanical Engineering.
