DIFFA Houston to hold TAKE A SEAT 2006 Creative Cocktail Affair Puts a Plain Chair to Good Charitable Use
Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) Houston will hold TAKE A SEAT Saturday November 11th at The Royalton at River Oaks 7 PM 's8211; 10 PM. Tickets are $85 per guest.
Take A Seat is a creative cocktail affair where design professionals, artists, retailers and galleries are given a plain wooden ladder back chair and asked to turn it into a one-of-a-kind work of art for auction.
Chairing the event will be Alton LaDay and Steven Wagner. Catherine D Anspon, Deborah Colton and Michael Dale will serve as the curators of the event.
The creative chairs will be on display Saturday November 4th 's8211; Thursday November 9th at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Deborah Colton Gallery, Jacques Antiques, Wade Wilson Art, Peel Art Shop and Bonaparte Antiques.
The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) recently observed its 20th year as one of the largest funders of HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the U.S. Since its founding in 1984, DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of
the design communities to provide over $32 million to hundreds of AIDS organizations nationwide.
Beginning with volunteers from fashion, interior design, furnishings and architecture, supporters of DIFFA now come from every field associated with fine design. With 15 chapters nationwide, DIFFA has also been an innovative agent in drawing local and national corporations into the fight against the epidemic, and enjoys tremendous support from the business community.
