May 26, 2005 -- The San Francisco Improv Alliance is a group of talented actors dedicated to the work of Improvisational Theater. The Alliance offers performance opportunities to upcoming ensembles, self produced shows, Co-Production of pre established ensembles, Master Class Workshops of the finest Bay area and National Ensembles and Community Outreach in the field of Improvisational Theatre.

Shaun Landry, one of the founders of The San Francisco Improv Co-Operative and Producer of The San Francisco Improv Festival has decided to start The Independent San Francisco Improv Alliance.

"It is a brand new direction to branch out and bring improvisers together independently, while really going directly back to the roots and goals of what I wanted to bring to San Francisco" Says 40 year old Landry. "It is bringing some of the best teachers, and artist together and really focusing in on the art of improv"

Landry goals of continuing to support the artist has come to fruition with The Alliance.

"When I moved here to San Francisco my goal was to get great actors together, do some incredible work, and pay them. To show appreciation of the art of improv comedy both creatively and financially." says Landry.

The Alliance plans on having not only co-producing up and coming ensembles in the Bay Area, but to create its own "In House" ensemble called The Board of Directors.

With the San Francisco Improv Co-Operative (the brain child of Landry and current founder Sam Shaw) Ms. Landry is hopeful that both companies will thrive in making the improv community stronger.

"I'm hopeful both companies can bring great improv into San Francisco, along with every other theater company in San Francisco" states Landry.
