Miami Poetry Reviews July Poetry Contest Set to Begin
There will be a $5.00 submission fee for each poem submitted. Entrees will be received from June 25th through July 30th, and there will be a maximum of five entrees per applicant.
The grand prize will be $25. Winners will also be featured on the Miami Poetry Review's website(http://www.miamipoetryreview.com). July's winner will be announced on July 4th, 2005.
Miami Poetry Review is committed to enhancing the visibility and appreciation of the written and spoken word in the United States. Recognizing the proliferation of illegitimate poetry contests that bait participants into purchasing products or services without any real chance at winning the contest or receiving any recognition, the Miami Poetry Review has decided to launch its monthly contest. The contest has only one round of competition, there are no peripheral products that need to be purchased in order to compete, and the winner will receive a cash prize and a featured spot within www.miamipoetryreview.com. The idea is to spark the creative forces with aspiring poets without the demoralizing bureaucracy that typically accompanies mainstream online poetry contests.
