Twin CitiesBased Literary Review Looking for Writers Artists Readers

The world is both beautiful and ugly. Split-City Review provides a sincere and impartial appraisal of the world--without flinching--for our literate, world-weary readers.

Split-City Review provides readers with insightful, well-crafted and thought provoking works that inspire personal growth and challenge the assumptions of all generations.

We offer not only fresh works from mainly unpublished authors, but also a thriving online community for writers, artists and readers alike.

Split-City Review does have the content you'd expect from most traditional review magazines, such as "W(h)ine and Cheese" (our letters to the editor section), articles on Featured Authors, back issues and resources for writers.

However, we tend not to think of ourselves as a traditional review in the sense that some of our site's offerings include "Happy Hour", the section that provides a peek into life's little anectdotes, the "Smoker's Lounge" (our op-ed area), as well as a Peer Editing Forum, a discussion board, and high-tech tools such as content you can download into your PDA and the ability to send instant messages to members of our community.

We accept written work throughout the year. Response times vary, but turnaround averages 60 days (ultimately contingent on the size of the submission pile). Obviously, seasonal pieces that arrive unusually early (more than three months before) might take longer.

Please read through some of our back issues at http://www.splitcity.com to get a feel for what we're looking for, and be sure to follow the guidelines here, before submitting: http://www.splitcity.com/modules.phpop=modload&name=News&file=article'sid=11&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0
