Residents and winter visitors to Arizona will be able to fill their taste for antiques this winter. Arizona Antique Shows has scheduled eight shows in Phoenix, two in Yuma and one in Flagstaff.

Wanda Jones, owner of Arizona Antique Shows along with her husband Bob, said that interest in antiques has been on an upsurge lately. Because of this, more antique dealers from other states are coming to Arizona to show their collections.

"We are very proud of how the quality and size of our shows have increased," she added.

The first show of the season, January 21 and 22 at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix, will utilize two buildings. This is the largest antique show in Arizona with approximately 200 exhibitors.

Jones said that during the off season many of the dealers travel Europe to bring European merchandise to the market.

Customers are also coming in from farther away such as San Diego, the Imperial Valley of California, Canada and Mexico.

The added value is that people can come to the shows and enjoy this memorabilia at no admission fee. For example, the January 21 and 22 Antique Show in Phoenix will feature a large group of antique furniture, along with its usual great variety of items.
