May 20, 2005 -- The artist states "the intuitive and spontaneous creation of "Once She Had A White Horse" blends raw figurative and abstract elements to bring the contradictions of anger,
sadness and a fiercely protected shred of hope to the painting. The primitive figure that inhabits the painting emerged with her own sense of loss and lingering of what has passed into
shadow.
This painted work symbolize my fundamental belief in the inherent fragility and loneliness of the human spirit. The past, in all its shadow and specter, looms large in my work.
As with much of my work, Once She Had A White Horse is a ghost story.
