DJ Jazzy Jeff, formerly of the rap duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, collaborates with BTR'ss own DJ Just Jay for a once-in-a-lifetime edition of the weekly hip-hop show. DJ Jazzy Jeff was half of the rap duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince in the 1980'ss and 1990'ss. Together, the two became big names on the local party/rap scene in Philadelphia, PA before the Fresh Prince, otherwise known as Will Smith, famously went on to star in the television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. DJ Jazzy Jeff appeared on the show as the recurring character Jazz. During their time together, the duo won Grammy awards for Parents Just Don'st Understand and Summertime. Parents Just Don'st Understand was awarded the first ever rap Grammy.



DJ Jazzy Jeff is one of the most influential DJ'ss in hip-hop history, with his influence stretching from the old school of hip-hop to the new school, said DJ Just Jay. He started back in the 80'ss when Will Smith was still known as the Fresh Prince and he'ss never stopped making music since then. We'sre honored to feature him on 'sThe Third Rail.'s



The Third Rail is BTR'ss hip-hop show hosted by DJ Just Jay. Every Tuesday, DJ Just Jay brings listeners the best music from the underground hip-hop scene.
