Cantilevered Coaster Systems has just added four animated sequences to their web site based on an attraction concept taken from popular film and utilizing a simplified Cantilevered Roller Coaster mechanical system.
The Cantilevered Coaster System or "CRC" is the first roller coaster ride system that actually places the ride vehicle and its passengers away from the track system, and at varying
distances and angles. The CRC is a patented, multi-axis, articulated system employing two rail sets and two coaster chassis, the lower chassis anchoring a support arm, this passing
through a gimbaled bearing system in the upper chassis, and supporting the ride vehicle. The support arm moves back and forth through the upper chassis, which in turn serves as a fulcrum
between the lower chassis and the vehicle. The effect is not unlike a tracked simulator system, but without the electric and/or hydraulic servo-systems and their associated computer
controls, using and amplifying all the best dynamic qualities of a roller coaster ride. You can view the animation at
