National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Awards Announced Four Titles from...

Four titles from Oceanview Publishing have been named award-winners in the National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Awards. Sponsored by PubInsider magazine, the awards celebrate excellence in independent publishing.



South Beach Shakedown by Don Bruns took top honors in the mystery/suspense/thiller category of the National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Awards. A third-in-a-series novel featuring rock and roll journalist Mick Sever, South Beach Shakedown (1-933515-02-3, $24.95 ) also won top honors in the mystery/suspense category of the Best Books 2006 Awards, sponsored by USA Book News, was named a finalist in the mystery/suspense category of the ForeWord Book of the Year Awards, and was named one of three finalists in the mystery/suspense category of the Benjamin Franklin Awards.



The Perfect Assassin by Ward Larsen was named an award-winning finalist in the mystery/suspense/thriller category of the National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Awards. The Perfect Assassin (1-933515-01-5, $22.95), a gripping tale of espionage and intrigue, was also awarded the Silver Medal in the Florida Book of the Year Awards, named as a finalist in the mystery/suspense category in both the Best Books 2006 Awards, sponsored by USA Book News, and the ForeWord Book of the Year Awards.



Death Angel by Martha Powers was named an award-winning finalist in the mystery/suspense/thriller category of the National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Awards. Hailed as a don'st-start-this-one-late-at-night read, Death Angel (1-933515-03-1, $24.95) was selected as a BookSense Pick and also named a finalist in the mystery/suspense category of both the Best Books 2006 Awards, sponsored by USA Book News, and the ForeWord Book of the Year Awards. Thorndike has purchased large print rights for Death Angel, and Doubleday Book Club has purchased book club rights for Death Angel.



Trash Talk by Bob Gussin was named an award-winning finalist in the humor category of the National Indie Excellence 2007 Book Awards. A hilarious tale of what happens when disparate worlds collide, Trash Talk (ISBN: 1-933515-04-X,$14.95) was also named a finalist in the humor category of the Best Books 2006 Awards, sponsored by USA Book News. In addition, Publishers Weekly highlighted Trash Talk as one of the sports books of the season in the October 2, 2006 issue.
