Rachel Belofsky, Founder and Festival Director of SCREAMFEST Horror Film Festival and partner Stan Winston are proud to announce that Screamfest has been accepted into the European
Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF). Screamfest is the first and only American festival accepted into the EFFFF and now joins the ranks of such prestigious European festivals such
as Brussels, Fantasporto and Sitges.
With over 20 festivals represented in the EFFFF, on the European continent as well as in Asia and North America, and a joint audience of approximately 600,000 spectators, the European
Federation of Fantastic Film Festivals has become one of the most powerful tools to promote the originality and creativity of the European fantasy film industry.
"The Federation is very pleased and proud to welcome Screamfest as the first US film festival and we are certain that their alliance will help European Fantasy Cinema to be better
recognized amongst the American public and professionals," said Thibaut Dopchie, European Fantastic Film Festival Federations (EFFFF).
"We are very honored to be accepted into this prestigious Federation and look forward to collaborating with them to discover more great talent," said Rachel Belofsky, Founder and Festival
Director.
Present in 15 countries, it has developed a tight network of festivals that allows films to reach foreign audiences more easily and offers them a potential visibility among the public,
press and professionals that it cannot find in film markets.
With the objective of supporting European fantastic cinema artistically and economically, the EFFFF has created the Golden Mlis Competition for Best European Fantastic Film.
The largest genre film festival held in the U.S., Screamfest, is an internationally recognized showcase for independent filmmakers and writers of the horror, science fiction and fantasy
genres. Screamfest is known for "Discovering the New Blood of Horror and Honoring the Masters"
This year's festival sponsored by Tarantula Azul, Fuji Film, Inktip.com Screenplay.com (a Write Brothers, Inc. Web site), IndieWire and IFILM.
