Although a mere 13 years old, when you talk to Melissa she comes across as a more mature and grounded individual. Melissa has been singing and performing since the age of two. Her musical influences, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, The Temptations and Stevie Wonder are evident in her musical style and vocals.

Her powerhouse voice is far more advanced than her tender years. Her soft toned speaking voice is transformed into an unbelievably rich medley of R&B Pop. Definitely a gift from God, she was blessed from the day she was born. Melissa was born with three holes in her heart which makes her gift of song even more meaningful as she belts out her songs with a strength and conviction that it commands your attention.

Melissa loves singing and listening to all types of music especially the tunes similar to Trinidadian roots (her mother was born in Trinidad).

Melissa loves old movies, particularly musicals. She also loves acting, dancing, playing the piano, modeling, ballet, and kung-fu.

In addition to the numerous venues in which she has appeared, she stared as an extra in the movie Gods and Generals in September 2001 and also done voice-overs in radio commercials.

In her first release Could This Be Love Melissa explores the feelings associated with a young first love but these feelings transcend age. Throughout our lives when we first meet someone we often wonder if the feelings we have could be love. Melissa works through these feelings in her song Could This be Love and at the end we find out thatYep, that'ss what'ss up.

With her boundless appeal and zest for the arts, Melissa is sure to make a powerful impact on the industry.
