December 2007 Roemer Report Notes Increase in Number of Women Truck...



The December edition of The Roemer Report (r Insurance for more than 30 years. The current edition of The Roemer Report offers a review of a new study of heavy-duty truck engines by J.D. Power and Associates, a discussion of the potential dangers of allowing Mexican tractor-trailers onto U.S. highways, and tactics employed by a growing number of trucking firms to help workers quit smoking. According to the Roemer Report, some 50 percent of over-the-road truckers smoke cigarettes, compared to about 21 percent of the general population.



Other topics addressed in December's edition include tips for driving safely in fog. Fog creates the illusion of slow motion and makes drivers think they are going slowly when they aren't. According to The Roemer Report, although truckers may think fast in emergency situations, even veteran drivers benefit from reviewing procedures for driving in fog.
