Marco Ferrera (www.ferreraracing.com), Brazil'ss two-time karting champion has won the championship title for Homestead Karting Club Series in the Tag Senior 125cc Light Division. Hosted in South Florida, the heated series consisted of 5 races with the 6th race scheduled in the near future.
Already named champion due to his 231 point lead in his respective class, Ferrera beat out 2nd place holder, William Isaias. Despite his competitors's long-time knowledge and experience
of the Homestead Miami Speedway, Ferrera took the lead as a rookie to Florida'ss race track and terrain. Moreover, Ferrera received 6Th at the Homestead 2007 Winter Championship.
The Homestead series took place between the months of August and December 2007. As many as 15-20 seasoned drivers participated in the highly-competitive race. An additional 15 drivers
from class EasyKart 125cc Heavy participated as well making an overall starting line of approximately 30 drivers. I practice constantly, states Ferrera. Karting enables me to prepare
during the break of the Pro Race Car series in the U.S. and Europe.
Unlike many professional drivers, Ferrera wasn'st born into a family of racers. Instead his passion began as a child and carried throughout his long and successful career of
championships. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marco Ferrera is a Brazilian Formula Ford Champion and winner of the Series Championship with four victories. Ferrera has made a
significant place for himself in the world of racing as one of the top new pro drivers in Pro Racing and has captured numerous titles as a KART, Formula Mazda and SCCA GT-2 Driver.
Ferrera'ss next race will be the World Karting Association (WKA) starting on February 26 - March 1, 2009. Ferrera intends to begin practicing on February 24th after a two month hiatus.
