Shipments Decline for the RV Industry Pedata and Other LargeDealers...

Motorhome (http://www.pedatarvcenter.com/) shipments in 2007 dropped 9.5% after 5 years of record growth. Experts agree that the overall drop is due to the American consumer putting off discretionary purchases until after the economic slowdown abates.

Shipments History:

* Total RVs shipped in 2004: 370,100

* Total RVs shipped in 2005: 384,400

* Total RVs shipped in 2006: 390,500

* Total RVs shipped in 2007: 353,400

2006 marked the best annual total in the past 25 years and the fifth consecutive year during which RV shipments increased.

Small dealers across the nation have felt the crunch of the decrease, but larger dealers like Pedata RV Center are able to work through the slow down due to a wide customer base, low prices and large inventories.

Clint Ethington of Pedata RV Center said, Pedata RV Center is among a select group of dealers who deal directly from the manufacturer to the consumer; the middle man is cut out of the equation. That makes us able to offer better prices on better products. And that is keeping us ahead of the game even though the slowdown is making its mark on the RV industry.
