The Post Office foreign currency (http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/content1catId=19300207's38;mediaId=19300210) research finds that the traditional winter city breaks of Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona cannot currently compete with Eastern Europe when people are looking for value European breaks which help their travel money go further.
The Post Office report also found that in particular stronger sterling foreign currency exchange rates mean holidaymakers are likely to get more from their travel money for holidays to Warsaw, Budapest and Istanbul.
Thrifty tourists can head to Warsaw for cheaper accommodation. Whilst the Post Office foreign currency report named Prague and Budapest as best value for eating out. Favourable foreign currency exchange rates in Tallinn, Budapest and Warsaw mean that soaking up the local culture in these locations can offer best value for savvy travellers looking for winter city breaks which will also give them the most from their travel money.
