Cyprus Beauty Award for Charity Workers

June 4, 2005 -- Beauty experts have launched a new award scheme to reward charity workers with the make-over of a lifetime.

The Beautiful People Award, is aimed at recognizing the selfless contribution of voluntary workers across the island.

Charities and care organizations are being asked to nominate a worker they feel deserves a day of luxury and pampering. The winner will be treated to a make-over which includes massage, facial treatment, manicures and hair styling.

The award is the brainchild of beauty therapist Sam Georghiades and Toni and Guy-trained hairdresser Ian Johnston.

Georghiades, manager of the Oasis Health and Beauty Spa in Paphos, said: "This award has been a long time overdue. Everyone recognizes the amount of work and sacrifices made by voluntary workers every day across the island. We know what they do but we rarely take the time out to say 'thank you.'

"The Beautiful People Award is way of saying a big thank you to a charity worker or volunteer who has made a difference to their organization. It will be the winners day where he or she will be treated like a king or Queen."

Spokesman Kizzi Nkwocha said: "Charity workers are beautiful people. It's just that no-one's ever said it out loud before. The award will shine a light on what these amazing people do every day to help others for little or no reward."

The Beautiful People Award, is writing to hundreds of charities and voluntary groups to ask for nominations. Alternatively nominations can be sent to: Beautiful People, 21 Ellados Avenue, Suite 253, 8020, Paphos, Cyprus.
