Mrs Northwest Globe Seeks Delegates
June 13, 2005 -- Mrs. Northwest Globe, a regional titleholder for Washington, Oregon and Idaho, will be crowned on March 25 and 26, 2006 in Yakima, Washington.
Mrs. Northwest Globe will become the official state spokeswoman for the Women In Need Foundation (WIN). WIN is a not for profit crises outreach for women facing domestic abuse. The WIN Foundation's 20-week abuse recovery program called Right Living, gives women the tools to make better choices for themselves and their families.
The new Mrs. Northwest will speak out on the tragedy of domestic abuse that affects one in four women in her lifetime. Carol Milliron, the director of Northwest Globe Pageants and a Right Living teacher, states that "education is the key to stopping the cycle of domestic abuse. Because abuse is a learned behavior, the power to heal is within our reach."
Mrs. Northwest will also represent the beautiful Pacific Northwest at Mrs. US Globe 2006 to be held in July 2006 in Palm Springs, CA. There she will gather with women from all over the United States for the national fundraising event.
