Miss Russian New York 2005 Beauty Pageant
The pageant was launched by www.RussianNY.com a leading Russian Internet portal in the New York Metropolitan area and NTV America, a nationwide Russian Language Broadcasting company.
The participants were chosen via various casting events throughout NYC. The winners will be awarded cash prizes and various high-end gifts. The topper will also be rewarded with a contract from a major sponsor of the pageant to appear as "the face of the product."
Online voting for the general public commenced on March 14, 2005 on www.RussianNY.com and will continue until the final night of the competition. Based on an Internet score, a separate online winner will also be announced during the contest and will be awarded the "Miss Russian NY People's Choice Award" prize.
Leonard Benfeld, executive producer of the event said, "Our contestants represent a group of women that possess a great sense of style, energy, intelligence, grace, educational values and defined career goals." His partner, Regina Blokh, COO of RussianNY added, "They are the future leaders of our community."
A panel of distinguished judges was assembled to evaluate the final night of the competition.
Among them will be Anna Malova who became Miss Russia in 1998 and subsequently competed in the Miss Universe Crown that same year.
